Somar has given me so many fun memories in the last 15 years. It's small and intimate. Usually have good djs. It's a staple in Oakland and always have a good time whenever I pop up in there.

A friend and I wanted to go out on a Friday night but didn't feel like crossing the bridge, so our next bet was Oakland. Let me tell you!! This was the first place we stopped at and this set the bar for the rest of the night. I have to say, I was super impressed not by the drinks, but by everything else! It's a very POC & LGBTQ+ safe space (A HUGE PLUS FOR ME). The music, CHEF'S KISS! The minute the DJ played Frank Ocean, that's when I knew. I also really enjoyed the bartenders, they were all super attentive, very easy to talk to, and had no issues with us asking for substitutions in our drinks. This bar was so enjoyable that my friend and I told ourselves we'd come back if we weren't feeling the other bars, and we did!! Definitely can't wait to come back here in the future, and hopefully soon!!

My cousin wanted to go here and it's a fun spot. Saturday night they charged a $10 cover. The dj started off good and then got whack, people were leaving. I ordered a long island from 2 different people and one charged me $13, the other $15. Not sure what's that about. I did like they had a water container for public consumption. It's a small but fun place.
